4.5 stars! Are you kidding me! Tasteless clams, over breaded and oily prawns and cold veggies on the plate. I expected more since it had great reviews. Sorely disappointed.

I gave this restaurant a second chance after a previous bad experience. The service was great and food surprised me. The chicken dumpling soup was delicious and the chicken fettuccine was good too. The place gives me the feel of a diner back East with a lake lodge twist. My precious experience had to do with slow service and a flustered waitress so maybe keep that in mind on a busy summer day. Great views of the lake.

We just stopped in this morning. Delicious breakfast and a very tasty Bloody Mary! The service was great and the view was beautiful!

Excellent food. The menu says they have the best BLT, and it's the truth. Top quality breakfasts, and a large dinner selection. The staff is always friendly.

Excellent food and super friendly service! Some of the best Prime Rib in Oregon and they have a Marion Berry Cobbler to die for. The restaurant overlooks Foster Lake and provides a nice setting for casual upscale dining.

I've never had a meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) that has disappointed me. Their service is always spot on. My coffee never runs out. The owner is always present and pleasant. I've had steak, scallops, biscuits and gravy, Denver omelet, and much more and I will come back time and time again to try even more of their menu. Also, it has an awesome view of Foster Lake!

Though the look of the place is cute and quaint, in order for me to give a place five stars the food has to be on point. In my opinion, the presentation of the food looked good but the taste was bland. Surely not a favorite of mine, but it was close to the hotel we were staying at.

The Point is a very family friendly and has very good omelettes! I don't recommend their hash browns, but I like their country fries! Next time I go there I should get something else.

Our group of five left happy and stuffed. We all ordered something different and all super satisfied -- crab sandwich with fantastic sweet potato fries, halibut fish and chips, burger, french dip and surf clams. Salads were fresh and not the after thought a salad can be. And the clam chowder -- excellent! Better than Mo's which we had just yesterday. Weather was perfect for the patio so we could fully enjoy the lake view. Nice wait staff. Overall, perfect place for a leisurely lunch!

Beautiful view of foster lake. Cozy place for dinner. The menu had lots of choices and the beer and wine menu was adequate. We split the taco soup and osso bucco. Soup was flavorful and filling. The osso bucco was a bit dry and veggies lacked seasoning. The desserts looked amazing but we did not indulge. All in all not bad. There are not many choices in this area, so would recommend as one of the better ones in this small town. And the views are very nice.

We split the seafood fettuccine with a bottle of Vigonier . It was so rich and decadent. We will be back!

Me and my wife wanted to try something new so we thought we would give it a try and we were extremely pleased with our meal, we both had the BLT sandwich and it was delicious. We had the Marion berry pie for desert and it was good as well but not worth $5 bucks a slice. I will go back for sure but this time i want to go on a friday when they have prime rib.

Went on Memorial Weekend and it was a pretty busy. But there was only two waiters at the time and food took a long time. Our waiter was really nice and friendly but felt bad of how busy he was. He even had to help out in the kitchen for a while. Food wasn't memorable... Just your average place really. Not somewhere I recommend. I would suggest to go past Lebanon and sweet home and just get fast food to fill your hunger.

Stopped here on the way to Corvallis, based on the Yelp love. I had a very good shrimp Louie salad--sooo happy the lettuce was a nice spring mix w/o frisée, instead of the too typical iceberg. Hubby had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, nice fat slices of quality bacon and tomato. Kid had a little cheese pizza with fries. All that and two Grey Goose bloody Mary's and a diet coke for $41. Obviously a local favorite, great views of the lake across the highway. Definitely recommend.

We were on a Geocaching trip from Bend to Eugene when we stopped at this restaurant for a bite of lunch. We will now always stop here when traveling through. The food was great as well as the fresh spring water. The owner and staff make you feel like you are at home in your own kitchen. The word "no" is not in their vocabulary. Whatever you want they will do for you.

I'm still dreaming about the Seafood Pasta.... So I was worried that once I move down to Lebanon for school, that I won't be able to find good food.....but it looks like a short drive to Sweet Home will take care of that! The Point is across the street from the lake, it's nothing fancy, sort of reminded me of an old diner. Service was so-so but we had good company and like I said..my pasta was amazing....

I must have drafted my first review on a bad day. Last night had a nice meal with my soul mate. She had the Cajun catfish, and I had a thick slice of prime rib. We both started with a cup and bowl of chowder. Thick and hearty as I like mine, the chowder was wonderful. On came the entree's and they were well sized for the price and well prepared. I have often complained about my food selections here in this town, I live in a town of less than 10K, and as a foodie that can make your choices limited. As I stated earlier, I need to come here more often for a real meal. Weekend breakfasts in the summer here are great, as you can sit outside on the patio and enjoy great views of the lake. Finally we ended the meal with a shared piece of turtle cheesecake doused in Carmel sauce. WINNER!! For a great all American style meal, give The Point a chance the next time in town.

Had lunch here on 8/24/11 and no surprise here- Still GREAT! Yes, the sour cream raisin pie was and is the BEST! Had a BLT and it was good, made with homemade ciabatta-type bread. You are paying for a whole lot more here than just a view- The view is a thrown in extra! The service is consistantly GREAT!

The Point Restaurant is the most amazing place for breakfast. It's hidden deep in Oregon, in what used to be an old logging town. Fortunately for my tastebuds my Grandparents call this sweet little town home. Everytime we venture down this way we always make it a point to stop at the Point for a delicious meal. (seriously, no pun intended) It's always the same, and it's always perfect - in the most delighful, warm, cozy way. The best bloody mary's of my life - hands down, no competition. I love this place!!

I really liked this place! I was in Sweet Home a couple days ago, and a local colleague recommended it to me. Their special for the day was actually special, unlike most "specials". That night it was a bacon-wrapped prime rib topped with garlic mushrooms. It was delicious...one of the best steaks I've had away from home in a long time. Nice and juicy and cooked exactly to order. The garnish was vegetables; they were slightly undercooked but still quite nice. Another nice touch is when you arrive at your table, they immediately bring you a small loaf of their homemade bread. I often don't like to eat too much bread before a nice meal, but I couldn't stay away from this bread. It was very tasty. The butter they brought was actually ready to spread on it too; not hard as a rock as it often is elsewhere. I was too full to try their pies but I hear they are delicious. Maybe next time. Oh, and I forgot to mention the view!! There is a nice view of Foster Lake from the booths on the north side of the restaurant. The only minor nit-pick I have with the Point is their dated decor. They could stand to modernize a bit, being the high quality restaurant they are.

This place is great! Their food is really well made and the service is friendly and attentive. Order a beer and it comes in a SUPER cold frosted glass, which I like. We go to the Point a few times a year when visiting from Portland and we always talk about the best ever super cold widmer hefeweizen we get there. I'm a veggie eater, so I'm a big fan of their veggie burger (with thick cut fries, so awesome), the dried cranberries they put on their salads, and the Shrimp Louie. So good. My meat eating husband swore by the French Dip last time we were in. Oh, and their pies? So delicious. The Point is a great choice for a meal in the Sweet Home area!

I came in here the other day not knowing what to expect, but I was very very pleasantly surprised. I ordered "The Point Burger" with fries, which was under $8. That's pretty cheap for a burger + fries nowadays. Not only that, but it was gooooood too. This place actually knows how to do a well-done burger. Then I got apple pie á la mode for dessert, and holy s*** it was some of the best apple pie I've had in a loooong ass time. It was so good, that it was hard to stop eating it after I got full. Did I also mention that it only costs 50 cents to make it á la mode? That is a STEAL.

We stopped here on the way home from Sisters, after hiking at McDowell Creek Park. Despite the positive Yelp reviews, I wasn't expecting much. I figured it would just be another Shari's or Denny's. We were pleasantly surprised. My grilled Cajun catfish was wonderful, and my wife really enjoyed her chicken cordon bleu. We arrived after dark so we didn't see the view, but they had good wine (Kiona red blend), great food, quick service, and a nice homey atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Service is unbelievable. Under new ownership a couple months back and even better than it was 20 years ago now! New happy hour and appetizer menu which was very impressive in their new sports bar. Had such a nice time last night with about 20 friends in there. They were so accommodating I can't believe it after living in the big city for the past 20 years. Great lake view. Great owner. Great waitress. We were well taken care of and I can't wait to get another get together organized there in the next couple of weeks. It is THE only decent dining experience in Sweet Home!
